  • Why Horses?

    Horses have succeeded as a species for 56 million years and have so much to teach us. As one part of nature - 3.8 billion years of evolutionary intelligence, they are a direct link to the natural world from which we as humans have much to learn about thriving, transformation, and connection. They are experts at “being” and hold space so clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, goals, and dreams. Horses model how to be in the world — pulling from the Five Pillars of EQUUS — Safety, Peace, Freedom, Connection, and Joy, all held with Presence and Care . When these conditions exist, magic can happen.

  • Do I need experience with horses?

    No horse experience is required, although horse people are welcome! All the work we do will be on the ground.

  • Is this work for individuals or teams/groups?

    Both! Fill out the contact page indicating your interest and we can chat about the best fit for you as an individual or for your team/family.

  • Is this Equine Therapy?

    No, the EQUUS Experience is not Equine Therapy. Equine Therapy uses a mental health professional trained in different modalities to assist a client in addressing mental health challenges.

    Equine Assisted Learning/Transformational Coaching is helping the client to learn and develop skills that can assist them in achieving specific goals and addressing barriers to those goals.

Coaching

  • Where will we meet?

    Coaching sessions are typically done over the phone or on Zoom. But, if in-person or on the ranch works better for you, we can talk!

  • What is coaching?

    Coaching is partnership in moving from where you are now and helping you find the tools to get you to where you want to be.

    For example, maybe you are a driven, independent high-achiever who is open to new ideas and willing to be honest about where you need and want to grow, but you have some fear of the unknown which creates a barrier to achieving your goals or dreams. Or your mental or physical health suffers as a result of you questioning your own wisdom and power. Maybe you lose your sense of self when others in your world don’t hold up their end of the bargain.

    Coaching is a powerful way to explore some of these topics (and many more) and move forward to creating the life you want.

  • I am in therapy. Will coaching still benefit me?

    Yes, it certainly can! Coaching can be a great addition to therapy. As a coach, I am here to help you focus on moving forward and to help you set and achieve your goals, however big or small.

    Please note: Coaching is not a replacement for therapy and in fact the goals are very different. If there is anything that needs to be addressed by a trained therapist, I will make recommendations and referrals.

  • What will we talk about?

    That is completely up to you! Some clients want help navigating the challenges of parenting, leadership, goal-setting, and/or boundary work. I am here to walk alongside you and celebrate as you move past the things holding you back from achieving your goals.

  • Do you use horses in your coaching?

    Sometimes! Your individual coaching experience is uniquely tailored to you and if you’d like to add horses to the mix, we can! Horses offer a somatic experience of the transformation you are hoping for. Most coaching sessions are on Zoom or over the phone, but we can talk about how you would like it to look.
